Freshmen Parking

Police Car

The UW-L Student Association and the Resident Hall Association created a policy that will prioritize parking permits for students living in the Resident Halls on campus.  This policy gives freshmen the lowest priority in terms of applying for resident permits, and strongly discourages them from bringing their cars to campus.  Currently, there is limited parking on the streets surrounding campus especially during the winter months when the City of La Crosse enforces its alternate side parking ordinance.  The policy sets aside a small percentage of permits for freshman with extraordinary circumstances in which they feel they absolutely need a parking space (ex: Medical reasons, employment, family, etc.). A special appeal committee will respond back in mid-August to anyone who files an appeal.

To purchase a permit, please refer to the "On-line Services" link above or to the left.

To file an appeal, please send an email to the link below and include your name, assigned residence hall, and an explanation of the necessary reasons for needing a parking permit for the 2008 - 2009 school year.  Please be sure to include in your explanation any and all information that you think would be helpful in making this decision.
