The La Crosse Chapter has been recognized as an Outstanding SPS Chapter by the national society during the 2003-2004 and 2002-2003 academic years.

Grants:

In spring 2005, Brooke Chulzes was one of two students that received the Outstanding Student Award for Undergraduate Research. Brooke was selected by the national Society of Physics Students to present her research entitled "The Discovery and Measurement of Optically Pumped Molecular Laser Emissions and Their Use in the Investigation of Unstable Molecular Species" at the International Conference of Physics Students held from August 11 - 18, 2005 in Coimbra, Portugal.

In spring 2005, the La Crosse SPS chapter received the Sigma Pi Sigma Undergraduate Research Award from the national Society for Physics Students for the proposal entitled "Measurement and Application of Far-Infrared Laser Emissions".

In spring 2003, the La Crosse SPS chapter received the Marsh W. White Award from the National Society for Physics Students for our community involvement through The Physics and Laser Light Extravaganza outreach program that is presented every year to students throughout the community.
