Grant
The PK16
Writing Partnership has been planned as a three-year
project. It has
been funded for 2004-2005 by an ESEA Title II Improving
Teacher Quality grant. In
spring of 2005 we will evaluate our work together and re-apply
for the next year of funding.
The
University of Wisconsin System administers the Wisconsin ESEA
Improving Teacher Quality Program. This is a competitive
grants program for increasing student achievement in a number
of disciplines, including English, reading and language arts,
through staff development for teachers and principals.
The funds for this program are part of a large block of
grants from the U.S. Department of Education which is awarded
to each state, with a percentage given to higher education to
make competitive sub-grants.
