Planetarium Program Summary
"Destination Mars!"
Book your flight on the
first "personed" mission to Mars.
Destination Mars! is
a simulated journey to Mars in the year 2020. NASA astronauts provide
narration and NASA artists were commissioned to do most of the artwork.
Come join the crew of the Antares mission for two years of life and exploration
on the surface of Mars. This is not a show about the history of Mars
or the Pathfinder mission, though mention is made of the various explorations
of the Red Planet.
Highlights
include a very nice animation of the Mars PathFinder probe and stills of
the Martian Meteorite, as well as, several panoramas.
This program
is suitable for 4th grade and up but is usually requested for 5th-9th grades.
(Produced by Spitz, Inc., in cooperation with the Houston
Museum of Natural Science/Burke Baker Planetarium and NASA/Johnson Space
