FAUVE - Printmaking

FAUVE- (wild beasts) A label worn with pride by a group of young French artists in 1905 who shared a radical new style based on violent color and distortion. The French FauveÕs included Matisse, Rouault and Soutine.

Description: An exhibition/lecture based program which seeks a membership of individuals interested in furthering their knowledge of printmaking and in supporting the continuing development of the UWL Printmaking Program.

Contributions will support Lecturers and Visiting Artists, traveling exhibits of UWL student prints, and shipping costs for incoming contemporary printmaking exhibitions.

The Third Floor Printmaking Exhibition Space in the Center For the Fine Arts will provide the forum for exhibiting contemporary printmaking exhibitions.
