First and Second Week Activities Spring 2008
There are several events that you may find particularly useful as you begin the new semester. The first is the Chancellor's All-University Address and Luncheon. These events allow all of us a chance to reflect on our goals as a university, and to reconnect with colleagues and friends.
For details on these and other events, please visit the First and Second Week Calendar.

Student Information System (SIS) Implementation Update
As noted in an earlier Digest, UW-L is transitioning to a new student information system. Among other benefits, the new system will make admissions and financial aid information automated and viewable online.
Debbie Veglahn, project manager, has developed a website (www.uwlax.edu/peoplesoft) that will provide updates on timelines, milestones, campus decisions, and committee memberships. The implementation team hopes to have a consultant on campus by mid-February. This individual will assist in a phased implementation of the program with admissions, financial aid, records and registration, student financials, and academic advising. Full implementation will be completed by Fall 2009. The website provides additional information including appropriate contacts.
UW System “Advantage Wisconsin” Project
UW System has completed the first phase of their strategic framework called "Advantage Wisconsin." Please visit http://advantage.wisconsin.edu to review reports and provide feedback on the seven core strategies (prepare students, more graduates, high-paying jobs, stronger communities, resources, operational excellence, collaborations).
