The Office of Sponsored Research, Scholarly and Creative Activities is pleased to acknowledge the effort  by UW-L faculty and staff in submitting proposals to seek funding for their research and scholarly pursuit as well as service projects. In 2005-2006, the overall success rate of all grants/contracts was over 88% and ranged between several hundred to about a million dollars. The following table shows the comparison of the total amounts generated in 2005-2006. Congratulations to all recipients of external grants/contracts.

Grant Writer Joins Provost's Staff

Amery Bodelson joined the Office of Sponsored Research, Scholarly and Creative Activities in the Provost's Office on September 5, 2006. As Grant Writer, Amery is responsible for researching sources, developing, writing, and submitting proposals to secure funding from public and private sources on behalf of UW-L and the School District of La Crosse. Amery provides assistance to faculty, staff, teachers, and administrators with all aspects of proposal development for collaborative grant projects between the two organizations. Projects are reviewed and prioritized by a Grant Steering Committee comprised of representatives from UW-L and the School District of La Crosse.

Before joining UW-L and the La Crosse School District, Amery was as a graduate assistant in the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs at UW-Eau Claire, where she also earned her Master of Arts in English. Prior to working for UWEC, Amery was a technical and marketing writer.

Institutional Researcher Producing “By the Numbers” Newsletter

The Office of Institutional Research  is producing regular newsletters entitled “By the Numbers” designed to share the knowledge, experience, and findings of the office with UW-L students, staff, faculty, and administrators. The September newsletter delineates the meaning and role of university rankings.

Growth and Access  

REMINDER: A website regarding Growth and Access is available which includes the plan, a link to the Regents’ meeting information, and FAQs. The website also allows interested individuals to submit questions on-line.  The planning teams for Growth and Access are posting applicable information to a D2L site which UW-L faculty, staff and students can visit by entering the username “access” and the password “access.”
