Academic Advising
Want some good advice? Meet with your adviser!
Advising is an important part of the registration process. Each
degree-seeking student is assigned a faculty adviser. If you are
not sure who your adviser is, check it out on
your WINGS
Student Center on the right side of the main page. The following information has been compiled to
help you plan when to meet with your adviser prior to
registering. Information sent directly to you via email,
newsletters, etc. supersedes this listing. Non-degree
students who need advising can work with the dean's office of
their college or contact the Academic Advising Center in Wilder
Hall or visit the
academic
advising website.
Advising Restrictions
The following departments/majors require advising and place holds on students’ records so they cannot register for classes until their department or adviser has authorized release of the hold. In addition to the list below, some individual advisers place holds on advisees’ records. The Academic Advising Center restricts first-year advisees only.
