The Rec Sports Department

The Recreational Sports Department is committed toward improving the physical, social, educational and recreational needs of the UW-La Crosse Community by providing positive recreational experiences and modern facilities which nurture appreciation of and participation in lifetime activities!

The department consists of 8 programs: 1) climbing facility; 2) club sports; 3) fitness programs; 4) informal recreation; 5) instructional programs; 6) intramural sports; 7) Outdoor Connection gear rental and trip planning service; and 8) special events.

We are one of the most popular programs on campus and consistently have over 80% of the student body participate in one or more of our program areas yearly.

We are also one of the largest student employers on campus with over 200 employees serving in a variety of positions including: customer service representatives, intramural supervisors, promotions & special events supervisors, building managers, climbing wall staff, outdoor connection staff, life guards, office assistants, intramural officials and intramural score keepers.
