Martial Arts

Overview

The UW-L Martial Arts Club is an organization for teaching and sharing martial arts skills. We practice a variety of systems including: Panantukan, Kali/Arnis/Escrima, Muay Thai, Grappling, Boxing, Weaponry, Self-Defense, and Tae Kwon do. The main system we study is the Jun Fan System (which covers about 80% of what we do) – from Sifu Rick Faye at the Minnesota Kali Group (MKG), in Minneapolis.

Our instructors are Scott Ranney and Lisa Becker. Both Scott and Lisa are Certified Instructors under Sifu Rick Faye and are affiliated with Minnesota Kali Group (MKG).

We welcome anyone with past experience in any martial art/system, as well as anyone who is just starting out or simply wondering what it’s all about. If you are looking to get a good workout, build strength, flexibility, and confidence, while meeting new people in a fun and relaxed atmosphere, come and join martial arts club. Come join us anytime, you don’t have to wait for the beginning of the semester.
