The Wisconsin
Indoor Climbing Series promotes
collegiate indoor climbing
competitions in the state of
Wisconsin. The series currently
consists of competitions hosted
by: UW-La Crosse, UW-Oshkosh,
UW-Stevens Point, UW- Stout and
UW-Superior.
Participants earn points based
on their finish at the
participating competitions. The
top co-rec team and overall male
and female climbers are
recognized at the conclusion of
the final competition.

RULES DESCRIPTION
WICS currently consists of 5 participating climbing competitions in the state of Wisconsin;
UW-Superior, UW-La Crosse, UW-Oshkosh, UW-Stevens Point and UW-Stout. WICS was created to help promote indoor climbing competitions in the state of
Wisconsin and to improve collaboration between the different UW-system climbing wall programs.
ELIGIBILITY
this series is open to any and all climbers
Individuals: WICS competitions are open to any individual
climber who would like to compete
Teams:
1) Must be comprised of at least 4 individuals
2) Members must be comprised from the same organization ie. Same
school, club, gym etc.
3) Must consist of at least one member of the opposite gender
4) Teams have the option of fielding different climbers at
each competition. Similar to cross country meet scoring, a
school or organization earns points based on the top three team
members competing at a particular comp.
COMPETITION FORMAT(S)
The climbing competition format at each event is determined solely by the hosting organization.
REGISTRATION
Individuals: Must designate their desire to be included in
the WICS standings on the registration form provided by one of
the participating WICS competitions.
Teams: Individuals must designate their desire to be included in
the WICS standings and must identify their team affiliation when
registering for a WICS climbing competition.
SCORING
WICS scoring is separate and
most likely different than that of the local competitions. WICS
will recognize the overall top three co-rec teams and male and
female climbers. Participating WICS events will provide an
overall ranking of the male and female climbers to the WICS
board within one week following the event. Team scores are
calculated using the teams top four climbers, of which at least
one has to be from the opposite gender. The top finisher could earn 100 points, second place 90 points and
so on using the scoring chart below.
