FAQs - Safety and Security

  1. Who should I or my parents contact in case of an emergency?
The emergency number is (608) 789-9999. The University Police Department operates a 24-hour a day service to provide assistance to the campus community in case of emergencies.

  2. How safe are the halls?
We have been fortunate in the past to have a campus with a low number of crimes. While we work to have a safe campus, employing secure building entrances, emergency procedures/services (fire, storm, police) and planning awareness programs, how safe any campus will be, is largely determined by the students themselves. We encourage our students to make choices that keep themselves and their belongings safe by locking their doors to their rooms whenever they leave and overnight, by not allowing people they do not know access into the building, by walking with friends and by making wise choices with alcohol.
