MAJ Jason Eddy was born in Morgantown, West Virginia on April 27, 1975. He attended the ROTC program at the Pennsylvania State University and received a two-year scholarship. In 1997, he graduated from Penn State with a B.A. degree in History.
MAJ Eddy was a Distinguished Military Graduate and commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Field Artillery.
MAJ Eddy graduated from the Field Artillery Officer Basic Course at Fort Sill, Oklahoma in November of 1997. His initial assignment was with the 6 th Battalion, 37 th Field Artillery at Camp Stanley, Korea as a MLRS Firing Platoon Leader. At the completion of his tour in December 1998,
MAJ Eddy was assigned to the 2 nd Battalion, 15 th Field Artillery Regiment at Fort Drum, New York as the Bravo Battery Fire Direction Officer where he deployed in support of Operation Joint Forge (SFOR-6) in Bosnia-Herzegovina. He also served as a Company Fire Support Officer and the Battalion Fire Support Officer for the 4 th Battalion, 31 st Infantry.
Following his graduation from the Field Artillery Captain's Career Course,
MAJ Eddy was assigned to the 1 st Battalion, 5 th Field Artillery at Fort Riley, Kansas in October 2001 as the Assistant Operations Officer. He assumed command of the oldest unit on active duty in the Army, Delta Battery, in November of 2002 and deployed with the battery in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
MAJ Eddy's major deployments include Operation Joint Forge (SFOR-6) in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Operation Warmlake Wildland Forest Fire Fighting in Oregon, and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
MAJ Eddy's military education includes the Field Artillery Officer Basic Course, NBC Defense School, Air Assault School, Field Artillery Captain's Career Course and the Combined Arms and Services Staff School.
His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal (2 nd award), the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the NATO Medal, the Korea Defense Service Medal, and the Air Assault Badge.
MAJ Eddy is married to the former Jamie Ward of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania and they have
two sons, Nicholas and Nathaniel. His areas of interests include reading, military history, and hunting and fishing. |
