Joined the Army in 16 Nov 1984

Graduated OSUT as an Indirect Fire Infantryman in Mar 1985

SERVICE TO DUTY

I served in my first duty station at Stork Barracks, Illesheim, Germany in 1/130'A-rmor, I AD. I worked my way from Pvt - E2, Armored Personnel Carrier Driver to Specialist as a Mortar Fire Computer. I also participated in the 2 d Fichtelbirge Forced March. I met my wife in the small town of Bad Windsheim and several months later, on 23 Dec 1986, we got married. .

I left Germany, as a Specialist, in February, 1987 to begin my assignment as a Basic Non- Commissioned Officer Course Instructor's Aide in Fort Knox, Kentucky. I graduated from Primary Leadership Development Course (BNCOC) and Instructor Qualification Course and in June 1987 became promoted to Sergeant. I was laterally transferred to 4/15'h Infantry where I performed as a Squad Leader and Fire Direction Chief for a Heavy Mortar Platoon

I re-enlisted for 6 more years for an opportunity to serve with the 25th Infantry Division in Schofield Barracks and in December 1988 1 moved to Hawaii. I served as an 8 1 mm Mortar Squad Leader and Fire Direction Chief in HHC, 1/21" Infantry. In July 1991 1 was promoted to SSG and led a 60mm Mortar Section in C/l/21't Inf. While stationed there I graduated from Airborne, Air Assault, BNCOC, I" Line Maintenance Supervisor Course, Civil Affairs Course and competed in the 1991 Honolulu Marathon. The most significant event was the birth of my son (Alex) on 20 Aug 1990.

1 was reassigned to Fort Bragg, NC to serve as an Airborne Physical Deception Section Leader in HHC, 313'h MI Bn. There I earned my Expert Infantry Badge and Deployed four times to the Joint Readiness Training Center, Fort Chaffee, AR and Fort Polk, LA.

After two years I began an assignment in Recruiting with duty at Escanaba, Ml. While on assignment I earned the Gold Badge with three Sapphires, graduated from Advance Non-Commissioned Officer Course (ANCOC), became promoted to Sergeant First Class and re-enlisted indefinitely.

My next assignment was to serve as a Heavy Mortar Section Leader in HHC, 2/6 Infantry, Baumholder, Germany in November 1997. Additionally, I served as Platoon Sergeant and Platoon Leader. I trained for and competed in a 33 mile Ruck-March. Another great achievement in my life there was the miraculous premature birth of my daughter (Isabel) on 16 Jan 1998. I applied for and received a Consecutive Overseas Tour to Schweinfurt, Germany, where I served as Heavy Mortar Section Leader, Platoon Sergeant and First Sergeant. I Participated in the 100 Mile Nijmegan March in Nijmegan,

Holland. I deployed as I SG of B/ I /26th Infantry to Illesheim, Germany where we provided the Force Protection for Stork Barracks during their deployment. In April, 2002 I deployed to Kosovo (KFOR A).

I returned from Kosovo in September, 2002 and transferred to 1ID, G3 Operations in Wurzburg, Germany. There I deployed, in February 2003, to Mardin, Turkey as a Sector Commander for the 1 ID Early Entrance Command Post, intending to support 41D during OIF. In February 2004 1 deployed to Tikrit, Iraq for OIF 11 as assistant G3 Operations SGM. A year later I returned to Germany and, after Re- Integration, prepared for my next assignment as Senior Military Instructor to UW-LaCrosse, ROTC. I reported to this department on 29 August 2005. I currently live in the fastest growing town in Wisconsin, Holmen, WI.
