Seargent First Class Morgan

SFC Johnny B. Morgan was born in La Follette, TN on 17 November 1967. He graduated from Goodrich H.S., Fond du Lac , WI in 1986. SFC Morgan originally enlisted in the Wisconsin Army National Guard in 1985 as a split option and attended basic training the summer between his junior and senior year of high school. He returned to graduate and attend AIT, also at FT. Benning, GA. SFC Morgan converted to active duty and reported to the 101 st Airborne Division in July 1987, assigned to the 2/502 nd INF RGT.

His military schooling includes the Primary Leadership Development Course (PLDC), Basic Non-Commissioned Officer Course (BNCOC), Advanced Non-Commissioned Officer Course (ANCOC), Sniper School, U.S. Army Drill Sergeant School (DSS).

SFC Morgan has served in numerous duty positions throughout his career. He served as an Infantry Rifleman, M60 Assistant Gunner and Gunner, Assistant Sniper Section Leader and Sniper Section Leader, and Assistant Scout Section Leader, with the 101 st Airborne Division. Assistant Sniper Section Leader with the 1/503 rd INF RGT, 2nd INF Division , Korea . Served as a Drill Sergeant with 2/13 th INF at Fort Jackson , South Carolina . Served as an Operations Sergeant with the Combat Coordination Team #2, Taegu , Korea . He served as a Weapons Squad Leader, Platoon Sergeant with the 1/325 th Airborne Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg , North Carolina . Until coming to the UW his most recent assignment was at the U.S. Army War College, Carlisle PA as an Operations Sergeant. While at the War College he was deployed to Afghanistan and was attached to the 25th INF Division. Throughout his career has deployed to Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Canada, Kosovo, Afghanistan .

SFC Morgan is married to his wife Peggy and has two children. His hobbies include hunting and fishing.
