I was born and raised in lovely, lively La Crosse.
I had a great time in this neighborhood as a child.
I went to Washington School, which was on the corner of 16th,
and Vine Streets (the Center for the Arts is now located there).
We were very fortunate in that we were allowed to use the gym
at the Campus School for basketball and tumbling (it's now Morris
Hall).
We were also given the privilege of using the swimming pool
in Wittich Hall; so we had swimming, water ballet, junior lifesaving,
tumbling and basketball during the cold winter months. I also
enjoyed roller skating and biking on the "steep hill" in
front of Wittich Hall as a child.
A month after I graduated from Central High School I started
employment at the La Crosse Telephone Corporation. Within the
first year I became the Secretary to the Revenue Accountant.
I worked with the La Crosse Telephone Corporation for seven years.
I have worked for the State of Wisconsin for 23 _ years. During
my employment with Job Service, I also worked with the Unemployment
Compensation Department (UC) and the Job Opportunity and Basic
Skills Program (JOBS). I started out in a Typist position and
became the Administrative Secretary to the District Director.
Three years ago I transferred to this position and enjoy working
in the Military Science Department.
During and between working, I had the pleasure of raising and
enjoying my four children: Jeff, Anita, Sue and Tim.
