Like college? Do it for life!
Welcome to the Student Affairs Administration (SAA) master's degree program at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse! Formerly known as the College Student Development & Administration program, the SAA program was established in the mid-1960's and has a rich student affairs history. In addition to our traditional On-campus program, we are excited to offer our new Online program which started in May, 2007. We recently received the "official word" that our Online program has been granted NCA accreditation by the Higher Learning Commission!
Our graduates get positions in Admissions, Advising, Career Services, Deans of Students and Judicial Affairs, Financial Aid, International Education, Multicultural Services and Campus Climate, Registrars, Residence Life, Student Unions, University Centers and other student affairs offices in higher education institutions across the country. The practical experience that our students receive while in the program has been a important aspect of the 100% job placement for our graduates for many years.
A unique strength of the SAA program is that the majority of our faculty hold upper-level administrative positions on campus and bring their experiences to the classroom. We offer our students a contemporary curriculum that reflects current trends and issues in student affairs and higher education. The "new" On-Campus curriculum reflects the faculty's commitment to staying current while providing a foundation of student affairs knowledge that students can integrate into their future careers. For example, our new one-credit offerings include topics related to international, advising, budget and finance, and technology issues within the student affairs context.
If you believe you would enjoy working in a higher education atmosphere in a student affairs role, we encourage you to take a good look at our SAA program. Please email or call me if you have any questions. If the "Like college? Do it for life" fits you, consider joining us on-campus or online -- you won't be disappointed!
Sincerely,
Jodie Rindt, Ph.D. -- SAA Program Director
