International Information

NEWSFLASH!!!  WE WILL BE OFFERING "THE STUDY TOUR TO GERMANY IN FEBRUARY 2012!"  See more info below.

In September 2007, we launched a new dimension to the SAA program -- the SAA International Initiative. Our goals are to:

  • create connections with our own International Ed Office and international students that are currently part of the UW-L community;

  • explore international opportunities for internships;

  • expand UW-L J-term offerings to including study abroad courses related to student affairs for SAA students, colleagues, and alums.

After several years of work, we have the following update:

  1. In February 2012, we will be offering the "SAA Study Tour to Germany."  Based in Frankfurt, we tentatively plan to visit two of our sister institutions in Hessen, the Ministry of Education, and the University of Bonn. Departure is planned for a Saturday with a return the following Sunday. This will be offered as a SAA 720 Special Topics course for 1 credit.  As we determine more details such as cost and dates, we will post them here.  Stay tuned!

  2. We are making some early connections with colleagues in various international sites for possible future internship opportunities. Although it make take a few years before we can actually offer our students this opportunity, we are very excited about the potential for this program.

  3. If you are an international student who is interested in our program, please check out our "Admissions" and "Apply Now" links for more information.

    Please check this site for information related to international opportunities both for our current students, alumni, UW-L colleagues and friends. We would also be very pleased to hear from our international colleagues and friends from around the world. We are particularly interested in connecting with potential international students who might be interested in our online program or our on-campus program in La Crosse.
