Welcome to the Graduate Sport Administration Program

The Master of Science in Exercise & Sport Science: Sport Administration is a multidisciplinary program of advanced study designed to prepare graduates for a career in sport and physical activity in any of the following enterprises:

  1. Education (interscholastic and intercollegiate)
  2. Professional
  3. Leisure/Fitness/Recreational
  4. Olympic

Sport Administration StudentsA 36-credit curriculum has been developed based upon standards of the National Association for Sport and Physical Education (NASPE) and the North American Society for Sport Management (NASSM). Students may select to complete a thesis or a non-thesis option in their curriculum. Between 15-20 candidates are accepted per year. See 2008-2009 candidates to the right.

Apply by February 1st for consideration in the on-campus program which commences either in summer or fall semesters (Note: applications for fall 2009 are no longer being accepted). There is no "rolling" enrollment. In order to be accepted into this program, the student must have an undergraduate GPA of 2.85 or higher and the following prerequisites must be met:

An undergraduate degree from an accredited 4-year institution; documented collegiate coursework in Human Anatomy (3 credits) and Human Physiology (3 credits).

Human Anatomy and Human Physiology can be taken while attending UW-L as a graduate student. These courses should be completed as soon as possible.
