School Health Education 910 Add-on Program
About the Program
We are excited to announce that the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse will be offering a 15 credit program for people seeking the 910 Add-On Health License. Interested participants must hold a current, Wisconsin DPI teaching license. This program is approved for licensure in the State of Wisconsin only and is not intended for licensure in any other state.
This program is designed to better serve the needs of professionals who are unable to come to campus during the regular school year. It will combine traditional on-campus learning experiences with on-line coursework so that participants may complete a portion of the program from home. An outline of the required coursework and the sequence of experiences are listed below:
- Spring Semester (3 credits, on-line)
- Students may begin on: March 2, April 1, & May 1
- SHE 705 – Essentials of Health & Wellness
- Summer Semester (9 credits, hybrid)
- Students must be on campus: June 22-25, July 13-16, and August 3-6
- SHE 710 – Leadership in Health Education
- SHE 715 – Curriculum & Instructional Methodology
- SHE 720 – Adolescent Health Issues
- Fall Semester (3 credits, hybrid)
- Students must meet on campus December 4, 5, & 6
- HED 725 – Seminar / Field Experience
In order to earn the 910 license, participants must complete the entire program in the sequence listed above and successfully pass the Praxis II examination.
