Adult Fitness Program
The
Adult Fitness program is designed to serve apparently healthy adults who
want to improve their overall health and fitness. The program is staffed
by an energetic, professional staff who realize that everyone has
individual exercise goals, interests, and abilities. Our goal is to meet
the special needs of each member, whether they are a beginning exerciser
or an advanced athlete.
Members receive periodic exercise evaluations, up-dated exercise prescriptions, monthly progress reports, and information on the components of a healthy lifestyle, such as diet and stress management. A wide variety of exercise options are available. Members may participate in 1, 2, 3, or 4 mile walking or running groups, water aerobics classes, or enjoy lap swimming in the 25 meter indoor pool. Other facilities include an indoor 200 meter track and a strength center complete with free weights, weight equipment, stationary cycles, rowing machines, treadmills, and elliptical trainers.
Primary
program hours are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 5:00-7:00 a.m. and
3:30-5:45 p.m. Additional, variable hours are available on Tuesdays,
Thursdays, and weekends, depending on the University calendar.
Rates are currently $320 per year or $190 for a 6-month membership. Spouses pay 1/2 price. Faculty and staff rates are also available.
