Admission Process to the Recreation Management Graduate Program
The application process for the Recreation Management Graduate Program is simple and straightforward. A student need only follow the overall procedures for admission to the University.
The on-line registration form for American students is: http://apply.wisconsin.edu
International students can find all necessary information at: http://www.uwlax.edu/OIE/ia/Graduate/Grad_Adm.htm
There are no examinations (GRE’s, et.al.) required for admission to the Recreation Management. Acceptance is based on undergraduate grade point average and experience in recreation-related fields. To qualify for unconditional admission (i.e., not on probation) to graduate study, a student must have:
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution.
- (a) An overall undergraduate grade point average of at least
2.85 on a 4.00 scale, or
(b) An average of at least 3.00 in the last half of all undergraduate work, or
(c) An average of at least 3.00 for no less than 12 semester credits of graduate study at another accredited graduate school.
- Departmental or school/college approval to enter the graduate program chosen.
There is open enrollment for Recreation Management, meaning a student may start in fall, spring, or summer. The majority of students, however, begin their program in the fall.
