The Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) was established in 1922. The CEC is the largest international profession organization dedicated to improving educational outcomes for individuals with exceptionalities, students with disabilities, and/or the gifted. CEC advocates for appropriate governmental policies, sets professional standards, provides continual professional development, advocates for newly and historically undeserved individuals with exceptionalities, and helps professionals obtain conditions and resources necessary for effective professional practice The annual dues for membership with CEC is currently $35.00. CEC members receive Teaching Exceptional Children bi-monthly, Exceptional Children quarterly, and CEC Today 7 issues annually. For more information about the national CEC visit www.cec.sped.org |
