We Are Proud to Present

BAND DAY 2011

Saturday, October 8th

1:00 p.m. kick off

The music selected for this event is to accommodate bands of all sizes. The massed band will perform a halftime show will consist of “Shout it Out” made famous by the movie drumline, “Crazy Train” by Ozzy Osborune (with a little UW-L SEMB twist that will be taught that day) and “You Can Call Me Al” by Paul Simon. Colorguards and/or flag lines attached to your band are welcome to participate and will be taught a uniform drill at the rehearsal. Due to space and time constraints, no sideline percussion (pit percussion) will be used for this performance. However, feel free to incorporate those students into your marching percussion using such items as crash cymbals, cowbells and etcetera. At the conclusion of the letter there is more information about ordering musical selections for this massed band performance. Please use special attention when ordering and receiving these items to ensure that you are preparing the proper musical arrangements, as with several of the titles there will be multiple editions.

Due to the many years of success for our football team, we must exercise restraint in offering complimentary tickets for this event. All participating students wearing their band uniform will be admitted free of charge. For each school, the band director and all assistant directors will be granted admittance, as well as one guard instructor and/or a drumline instructor. Chaperones will be allowed admittance at the rate of one chaperone per ten students. Any staff member working or volunteering with the band is asked to dress in a manner that represents their affiliation and responsibilities. All additional supporters will need to purchase tickets. Parents, family, and friends can purchase tickets prior to the game or on game day. Tickets are also sold on game day at the gate in the stadium. Ticket prices are $8.00 for adults and $4.00 for students.
