High School Band Day!
The third annual High School Band Day will be on Saturday September 14th, 2013
Additional information will be presented as it becomes available
Calling all area high school marching bands! The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse Screaming Eagles Marching Band invites you to play with us in an annual joint performance at one of our home football games!
The music selected each year for this event is designed to accommodate bands of all sizes. After a group morning rehearsal, high school students will join the Screaming Eagles on the field mid-way through the pregame show, and again for the halftime show. In addition, high school students will help the Screaming Eagles cheer on the UW-L Football team from the stands for the first half of the game. If you have a colorguard and/or flag line attached to your band, they are welcome to come and participate. Our colorguard section will teach them a uniform drill at the morning rehearsal. Due to space and time constraints, no sideline (pit) percussion will be used for this performance, however feel free to incorporate those students into your marching percussion using items such as crash cymbals, cowbells, etc. For information about ordering musical selections for this massed bands performance, please contact Dr. Fisher.
Due to the many years of success for our football team, we must exercise restraint in offering complimentary tickets for this event. All participating students wearing their band uniform will be admitted free of charge. For each school, the band director and all assistant directors will be granted admittance, as well as one guard instructor and/or a drumline instructor. Chaperones will be allowed admittance at the rate of one chaperone per ten students. Any staff member working or volunteering with the band is asked to dress in a manner that represents their affiliation and responsibilities. All additional supporters will need to purchase tickets. Parents, family, and friends can purchase tickets prior to the game or on game day. Tickets are also sold on game day at the gate in the stadium. Ticket prices are $8.00 for adults and $4.00 for students. Weekend on-campus parking is allowed free of charge in any of the "C" lots, with the exception of C2 & C3, which are reserved for tailgating. Click here for a map of campus.
