Both the campus police and the La Crosse city police take allegations of sexual assault seriously. Women who have been drinking are less likely to report a sexual assault because they feel they are, in part, to blame. UW-L and community police believe that if a person is cited for underage drinking, there will be even less of a chance of reporting a sexual assault to the police.
