UW-La Crosse Teacher Education

Initial teacher education preparation and continued support of professional educators are the focus of the School of Education.

The School of Education, in the College of Liberal Studies, represents a collection of Teacher Education Programs housed in a variety of departments and colleges across campus. Teacher Education is a campus wide effort at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. The programs offer bachelors and masters degrees in education and offer credit and non-credit continuing education for professional educators.

UW-La Crosse programs in teacher education are fully approved by the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools and by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction. Our Conceptual Framework and 10 Teacher Education Standards, which reflect the Wisconsin Standards for Teaching, are the foundation of our programs. A strong general education program, quality subject-area majors/minors, multiple-level field experiences and performance-based assessment further enhance the teacher education preparation experience at UW-La Crosse.
