Special Education Professional Development Portfolio

This web-based resource guide provides UW-La Crosse teacher education faculty and candidates with clear, consistent information regarding the UW-La Crosse Teacher Education E-portfolio process.

The Special Education Program (SPE) uses multiple standards-based assessment tools to support and evaluate pre-service professional development. In this performance-based assessment system, special education teacher candidates are expected to document knowledge, skills and dispositions necessary for teacher certification relative to the UW-La Crosse Teacher Education Standards (SOE) and Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) Professional Standards. The Professional Development Portfolio is one of multiple measurement tools used by the Teacher Education Program (TEP) assessment system to evaluate progress of its candidates.
