Graduate Information
Graduate special education candidates may choose one of the following based on previous education and employment experiences. See below for course requirements in each option.
- Master of Science in Education-Special Education (MSE) (pdf)
- Master of Science in Education-Special Education (MSE) with Cross-Categorical Special Education Certification (pdf)
- Add-on Cross-Categorical Special Education Certification without Master’s Degree (pdf)
Candidates holding a baccalaureate (BS) degree in education may choose to earn a Master’s degree without certification or add-on Cross-Categorical Special Education licensure.
Candidates holding a baccalaureate (BS or BA) degree in a field other than education may earn a Master’s degree with or without teacher certification. All candidates earning an initial teaching license MUST earn a Master’s degree.
