Time: 8:30-4:30 (lunch noon-1pm, on your own)
Location: 102 Wing Technology Center
Presenter: Dan King
Dan has been
in K-12 education for 33 years. Originally as a highly successful secondary
Science teacher winning many awards and presenting at a multitude of
Conferences, Dan began to pursue a career in Instructional Technology. After a
completion of his Master’s Degree Program and State of WI licensing, Dan
continued his career in the School District of Onalaska as an Instructional
Technology Coordinator. Through the years, Dan’s innovative ideas have brought
many critical changes to the school district. Creation of the first
collaborative multimedia lab for middle school students, first wireless
implementation for mobile computing, a District wide training and implementation
of Smart Interactive White Boards (currently over 80 staff trained and using on
SmartBoards on a regular basis) and now the introduction of iOS devices through
iPad integration and training. Dan’s most recent accomplishments include
successfully completing the full implementation of the Apple VPP Program for iOS
devices, and immediately putting into practice the deployment training of 13
Program Facilitators and 14 End Users. Dan also provides graduate level
instruction focused on educational technology with staff in the Onalaska schools
and is a regular at Washburn Academy. Dan also teaches Technology Enhanced
Instruction at Viterbo University for the Post Baccalaureate Program. As Dan
retires from the Onalaska Schools in June, he will be joining Innovative
Educator Consulting and looking forward to learning more as well as sharing his
knowledge and expertise around the state.
