Mary Coady

Project Director

        * Supervise the overall operation of Student Support Services. 
        * Identify, select, and assign participants to advisors.
        * Monitor successful completion of program goals and objectives.
        * Draft reports and grant proposals.
        * Oversee disbursement of the budget.
        * Coordinate activities with other UW-L offices and departments.
        * Disseminate information about the program, its eligibility requirements, and services.


Barb Chandler

Office Manager

* Coordinate the front office operations and support staff.
* Coordinate student hiring, training, supervision, and payroll.
* Arrange accommodations for participants needing note taking, tutoring or testing services.
* Assist director with budget and data management.
* Prepare grant and federal documents.
* Coordinate preparation and maintenance of newsletter and web pages.


Wayne Jacobson

Advising Coordinator

* Advise students and provide academic, personal, and career assessments.
* Provide advisor training to staff.
* Conduct orientation and in-service sessions.
* Serve as a campus liaison by working with academic departments and on committees to advise on issues that relate to TRIO eligible students.
* Maintain student records necessary for evaluation of assessment and advising objective.

Advisor for Students with Disabilities

* Assess the students' academic, personal and educational needs.
* Arrange peer tutoring services for students.
* Serve as a campus liaison by working with academic departments and on committees to address disability related issues.
* Conduct support groups for students with disabilities.
* Maintain student records necessary for evaluating the assessment and advising objective.


Lynette Prieur Lo

Multicultural Advisor

* Provide academic, career and personal advising to multicultural and at risk students.
* Serve as a campus liaison by working with academic departments and on committees to address multicultural related issues.
* Arrange services for multicultural students needing notetaking, tutoring or testing accommodations.
* Maintain student records necessary for evaluating the assessment and advising objective.


Maggie McHugh

English/ Mathematics Specialist

* Maintain hours for assisting students with Mathematics courses, English courses, or writing needs, especially participants with limited proficiency in English, students with disabilities, multicultural students and returning adults.
* Assist participants with test taking, essay writing, study skills, time management and preparation for standardized tests (PPST, etc.).
* Coordinate preparation and maintenance of newsletter and webpages.
* Develop and organize workshops to assist students in improving their collegiate and academic careers.

 


 
English Peer Tutors

* Conduct individual tutoring sessions for English 050, English 110, all English 200 level courses, and Communications 110.
* Maintain hours for assisting students with writing needs, especially participants with limited proficiency in English, students with disabilities, multicultural students and returning adults.
* Assist participants with test taking, essay writing, study skills, time management and preparation for standardized tests (PPST, etc.).
* Maintain necessary student records.


Math Peer Tutors


* Conduct individual tutoring sessions for Math 050, Math 051, and all 100 and 200 level Math Courses.
* Maintain hours for assisting students with Math needs, especially participants with limited proficiency in English, students with disabilities, multicultural students and returning adults.
* Maintain necessary student records.


General Peer Tutors

* Students may request tutors in other subjects by contacting their SSS advisor.  These peer tutors will be available on an as needed basis.
 * Maintain necessary student records.
