Charge to Planning Committee
Former Interim Chancellor, Elizabeth J. Hitch
December 1, 2006

The design and construction of a new Athletic/Recreation Complex at UW-La Crosse will be a landmark facility supporting the demands for campus athletic and recreational activities as well as community events and programs.  Significant planning is essential in moving this project forward; therefore, I am asking each of you to serve on the Athletic/Recreation Complex Planning Committee.  Ron Rada, Bill Colclough, and Matt Lewis will comprise the Executive Team for this group.

The committee’s charge will be to:
  1. Oversee the architectural development of the UW-L Athletic/Recreation Complex;

  2. Work with appropriate campus/off campus individuals and/or groups in accomplishing “1.” above;

  3. Develop a recommendation to the Executive Team as to the construction process of the Athletic/Recreation Complex.  For example, normal state process or private/public partnership plus any other options that might be studied;

  4. Develop a timeline for construction that is doable but also allows for the continuation of the state track meet on the UW-L campus.

Thank you for your willingness to serve on this committee; your work will provide a valuable service to UW-L as we move forward on this exciting project.
