EDWARD H. McCune "DISTINGUISHED CHAPTER AWARD"

This is the highest award given to an undergraduate chapter of' Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity. The Award has two components. Standards of performance have been set which are expected of the very best chapters in the Fraternity. Chapters which demonstrate that they have met these performance expectations are recognized with the Edward H. McCune "Distinguished Link Chapter Award". The award is presented annually at the Fraternity's Annual Awards Banquet. Among those groups, the chapter judged to have best met these performance standards is recognized with the Edward H. McCune "Distinguished Chapter Award". The application form for this award not only guide chapters through the McCune Distinguished Chapter Award process, but will also serve as an effective chapter evaluation tool. Every chapter, regardless of its expectations for recognition this year, should self-evaluate their chapter by filling out this application. Edward H. McCune Distinguished Link Chapters fulfill the classic mission of our Fraternity, to serve bright, dedicated men of character with brotherhood build upon the timeless principles of a civilized society.

Past award winners have cited the directives included in the "Guide to Records" as the keys to having an efficient chapter.

E. Kenndey Whitesitt "NEWSLETTER AWARD"

This award recognizes chapters who have developed and distributed quality alumni newsletter, as judged by the awards committee, during the previous academic year. One copy of each issue of your chapter's official publication must be submitted with the completed application form for consideration. Some criteria for award selection include frequency of publication writing content and quality, layout and design, a balance of chapter alumni and national news, the percentage of alumni members the newsletter is mailed to and newsletter finaces. Do not be discouraged if your newsletter is not a glossy publication. Chapters with photocopied newsletters, if they are well written and properly edited have just as good a shot at winning the award.
