Minutes of January 21, 2001

I. Call to Order: 6:34 pm

II. Present: Bart Jacque, Barry Sommer, Joe Dominquez, Joe Stauffacher, Brian Shaw, Jeff Knier, Kevin Marien, Andy Ziemann, Nic Mueller, Scott Nuttleman, Dru Sommers, Bryan Ingold

Excused: Dan Hannan

Unexcused: Ross Nielsen, Scott Swanson

Guests: Jarret, Jesse (friends of Dru)

III. President: Check out Web Page (Barry is redoing it at the present) looks great!

            Regionals: March 2^nd –4^th, Howard Johnson’s in Madison.  Cost is $60 for meeting and $79 for room per night. Talk to Joe S. if any questions

IV. Vice President: Grades—Joe is going on your word for those of you who said they       would donate $20 if they did not get a 3.0 or higher.  Bring for next meeting.

Class schedules—for when you have free time during the day, you can call and   hang out with other sig taus

V.  Finance:  Chapter is currently in the red -$638.00

                        Will contact Chartwells for possible money raisers

            Dues are due next week… $153.00

VI. Programs:  Will have Calendars next week for upcoming events.

                        Brotherhood:  Thursday 7:00pm at La Crosse rm. (Bring a Friend)

                        Ski Outing:  A big thanks to everyone who made it…

                        Golf Outing: June 30^th @ Old Highland golf course.  (More the merrier)

Family Weekend:  Saturday Feb. 24^th.  Shaw needs parent names and addresses so they can be formally invited…

Super Bowl Party: Sunday Jan. 28^th at Dustin and Brian’s house.  B.Y.O.B.

Planning trip to Missouri!!!

VII. Philanthropy:  Thanks to the ones who helped with Frigid Five…

VIII. Membership:  Think of idea’s to make Sigma Tau Gamma unique to campus.  Get Ideas into Keith

                        Recruitment tool for FRESHMEN!  Scholarships given to freshman who          

                        Have a GPA as follows:  4.0 – 3.75 = $100

                                                                 3.74 – 3.25 = $75

                                                                 3.24 - 3.0   = $50

IX.  Historian: Fun Historian Fact: We are the Beta Kappa Chapter.

X.  Other:  Monday Feb. 5^th all who are of age are invited to Coconut Joe’s for closed

                        Bar party.  FREE! (YES, IT’S TRUE, NO TYPO)

                Dru motions to move meeting back to 6:00 from 6:30.  motion passed!

XI. New Business: Motion by Andy and Joe D.   Andy makes a motion to that established student/teacher connection on a private basis on a minimum of 3 times per semester with the 1^st meeting with teachers by Feb. 14^th, 2^nd by March 9^th, and 3^rd by April 20^th for all active members as of the first meeting of spring semester 2001.

XII. Old Business:  B-ball tournament (fund raiser) @ YMCA

                                    Approve budget—motion 2^nd, discussion—none, budget approved                                                          with minor changes.
