UW-La Crosse Strength and Conditioning Senior Projects
Students in the Strength and Conditioning Concentration (SCC) at UW-La Crosse are free to choose a project of any scope as part of their culminating experience in the program. An abstract, or project proposal, is submitted at the beginning of the semester after speaking with program director, Travis Erickson, who okays it. During the semester the program director tries to keep tabs on the student and attempts to be a resource as they complete the activity. At the end of the semester, students create a reflection, or final write-up, that details how the experience went and what advice they would give for future students that may be considering a similar project. In addition to the project, senior level students also act as mentors to new students applying for the program by meeting with each of their assigned students at least five times during the semester. Students often reflect that they are amazed at what they've learned in 3-4 semesters while in the program which is accredited by the NSCA.
