Information About Student Court 2007-2008
The judicial powers of the UW-L SA are invested in the Student Court.  The Student Court consists of five Justices.  Each year four Justices are appointed to one year terms, and one Justice is appointed to a two-year term--one year as a Justice, and the second year as the Chief Justice of the Student Court.  The terms run from the time of appointment until September the following year.  The Student Court has the responsibility to interpret the UW-L SA Constitution and the policies derived under it when challenged are filed with the Court.  The Court shall also act as an arbitrator in all student actions taken against the UW-L SA or organizations recognized by the UW-L SA.  Finally, the Student Court is responsible for the protection of students' rights against the action of other students, faculty, or administration.

The Chief Justice for the 2007-2008 school year is Ryan Jesberger.  Aside from looking to build unity and diverse perspective within the Student Court, Ryan also looks to work collectively with other branches in UW-L SA to make students more aware of what services UW-L SA and Student Court have to offer students.  He looks to have at least one meeting a month, so we ask that you have the ability to accommodate to this if you choose to apply as a Justice.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact Fred Ludwig--the UW-L SA President--or Ryan.
