Brianne Rogers

Brianne is a first year graduate student in the Student Affairs Administration program.  She is originally from Birch Run, Michigan, and spent the last few years working and living in Saginaw, Michigan.  During this time she worked for Morley Companies in its Group Travel Division.  She wore many hats, but her main duty was negotiating contracts with hotels for clients’ group incentive and business trips.

Brianne graduated from Northern Michigan University in May 2007 with a Bachelor of Science, majoring in public administration and minoring in public relations and art history.

As an undergraduate, she was active on campus and participated in several different organizations, including Welcoming Committee for Spalding Hall.  Her two favorite organizations were the Student Leader Fellowship Program and Circle K, which she was a member of for four years.  She also enjoyed volunteering with several organizations including Special Olympics, Medical Care Access Coalition, and Upper Peninsula’s Youth and Family Success Partners.

She also worked all four years on-campus, spending her last two years in the Center for Student Enrichment as a Volunteer Center Coordinator.  She planned, promoted and executed large-scale service events, assisted in the placement of student volunteers, and advocated service and the Volunteer Center on campus and in the local community. This position and her other college experiences, lead to her decision to build a career in higher education.

Brianne enjoys several activities including hiking, snowshoeing, reading, board games, exploring new places, and spending time with her friends and family, especially over a good meal. However, she can’t stand goulash, tuna noodle casserole and playing volleyball!

She is very excited to be advising the Student Association this year.  She hopes to help students develop skills, become more well-rounded leaders and be a resource for them as they navigate college.  She also plans to learn a lot from the Executive Team, Senators, and Directors, and hopes they learn something from her as well.
