Get Out the Vote Coordinator
James Dirth
The Get Out the Vote Director this year is James Dirth; he
is a sophomore studying Political
Science and Sociology. He comes from Naperville, Illinois,
one of the larger Chicago suburbs.
James chose UW-L for its beautiful campus and for the town
of La Crosse, its academic integrity and
its relatively small size with an active community. James is
currently acting Co-Chair of the UW-L College
Democrats, Vice President of the Political Science and
Public Administration Association, and has an
undergraduate research grant from the Political Science
department.
James’ goal as GOTV Director is to oversee and help generate
a large student turnout rate for
November’s election. He is working with various other groups
on campus that are also looking to help
increase the student turnout rate. He believes in the
importance of voting, especially for students, who
will be the future leaders and inheritors of this country.
That is why he wanted to get involved in
Student Association; the importance of getting involved in
all forms of governance is a vital aspect to
prepare one’s self for the road ahead of them.
