University of Wisconsin - La Crosse Student Association President

Madisson Heinze

Welcome to my page! My name is Madisson Heinze and I am the serving President of the UW-L Student Association this year. A few fun facts: I am from the Holy Hill area in SE Wisconsin, I have two cats named Jiminy and Cricket, and I spend my summers in beautiful Door County. I am currently a junior seeking a B.S. in Political Science and Public Administration with the hope of attending law school after graduation.

As a freshman, I got involved with Student Senate right away; I served as Parliamentarian on the Board of Directors. I continued to serve on various committees and network with faculty, staff, and the administration. The next year, I was elected as a College of Liberal Studies Senator and was appointed to the Segregated University Fee Allocation Committee (SUFAC). In the Spring, Jason and I were elected to our current positions. Photo

Student government has always been a passion of mine. I have had the wonderful opportunity of working with very talented and engaged students over the last several years on a wide range of issues on campus. Jason and I work to involve many facets of student life into the regular functions of Student Association and Student Senate. We are dedicated to shared governance, legislative issues, local issues, and everything in between. My primary goal is to help students become more invested in their education and in UW-L. As President, I work with all levels of governance to advocate for student involvement on issues relating to the campus and the student body. Additionally, I help implement and oversee the policies formed by Student Senate. With such a high level of student activism at our University, we definitely have our work cut out for us over the next year!
