UW-L Student Association
UW-L Student Association (UWLSA) is a
student run organization that all UW-L students are a member of.
It seeks
to promote, protect, and defend UW-L student interests, and
improve the University through a united effort. It does this
through its Legislative Branch (Student Senate), Executive Branch (Executive
Board), and Judicial Branch (Student Court). Collectively, these three branches
are called the UW-L Student Association.

Student Senate
Student Senate is the Legislative
Branch of the UW-L Student Association. It has the power to
implement the
UW-L Student Association Constitution and Wisconsin State
Statute 36.09(5) in all aspects of campus. This means that it
has the power to decide how student segregated fees are spent, and
develop and take positions on policy pertaining to student and
campus life. This body is run in accordance with the
Student
Senate By-Laws.

It has responsibility to protect students' rights against the action of UW-L students, faculty, or administration and interpret the UW-L Student Association Constitution and the policies derived under it. The court is only able to exercise its power when challenges are filed with the Court.
