Derrick Sailer
Derrick Sailer is serving on
Senate for the college of science and health for the
2012-2013 school year. He is currently a senior, planning on
graduating in the spring with a BS in Geographic Information
Science. His hometown in Mauston, WI, but after traveling
the world he is a permanent La Crosse resident.
He chose UW-L because it was always a goal of his since he
was very young. After completing a semester at UW-Baraboo in
2001, he transferred to UW-Eau Claire for 1 year. He was
called to serve in Iraq and spent the next 8 years in the
Army serving 3 combat tours. Upon leaving the service his
goal was fulfilled, he was accepted to UW-L. He serves on
senate to give back to the school that has given me so much
and he also serve as the Sergeant at Arms for the Student
Veterans Association, also a chance for him to give back.
During the 2012-2013 school year, He will to strive to help
make a difference on campus. He has seen firsthand being a
member of the SVA how much student association can change
things for the better on campus and he is going to continue
that legacy of excellence and support.
