University of Wisconsin - La Crosse Student Senate

Kara Zwieg
College of Science and Health Senator

Kara is currently a senior at UW-L with majors in Biology, Spanish, and Pre-Med. She is originally from Weston, Wisconsin and intends to graduate in May of 2010.

Kara said she chose to attend UW-L because, "I felt like I was Goldie Locks from Goldie Locks and the Three Bears; UW-L was just right!" She also chose UW-L because of the size of the city, the compact campus, and the strong academic reputation. While at UW-L, Kara has been involved as a Vanguard, the Cellar Coordinator for the Campus Activities Board, a volunteer for UW-L's Helping Our Own Food Pantry, Big Brothers Big Sisters, La Crosse International Friendship Exchange (L.I.F.E.) Golden Key International Honor Society, Church Youth Trip Chaperone, and the Spanish Club.

Some of Kara's goals for the year include letting students know that their voice matters, making Senate a resource for students that they feel comfortable approaching, and any other initiatives that come up.

Kara is a member of the Academic Affairs Committee and the General Education Committee.
