What is Depression?
Changes in brain chemistry affect a persons mind and body making them feel
miserable.
Symptoms of Depression
A person with depression may experience most of these symptoms. They may:
-
feel tired
all the time
-
have sleep
problems
-
become upset
easily over little things
-
feel sad without
really knowing why, possibly even breaking into tears without knowing why
-
have a
decreased or even eliminated sex drive.
-
have a headache
most of the time, not always severe headaches but persistent
-
chronic pain
other than a headache such as a backache or pain in the abdomen
-
have little
enthusiasm for things they used to look forward to
-
lose or gain
weight
-
have
constipation or other digestive symptoms
-
have difficulty
concentrating, making decisions or remembering to do things
-
feel worthless
and ineffective knowing that they are not.
Treatment
There are several drugs which are effective in fighting depression. |
