How can I make an appointment for physical therapy? Appointments are required for students with musculoskeletal injuries or problems that do not require immediate attention. To make an appointment, call 785-5120 or schedule in person at the Student Health Center PT department front desk. Injuries or problems involving the back, neck, chest or abdomen, or those resulting from a motor vehicle accident must be evaluated first by a provider from the SHC or another medical center before scheduling a PT appointment. (Call 785-8565 or 785-8558 if you need to schedule with an SHC provider.) Students with Musculoskeletal injuries that require immediate attention (e.g. inability to walk; suspected fractures) can typically be accommodated (vs. seen/screened briefly) on a same-day basis during normal PT hours (see above). Phoning ahead (785-5120) to verify therapist availability is strongly advised and should help minimize patient waiting times. Students who sustain significant musculoskeletal injuries after normal clinic hours (including weekends) are advised to seek medical attention at either Fransiscan-Skemp or Gundersen-Lutheran Medical Centers .
