The UW-La Crosse Chancellor's String Quartet Scholarship
The Chancellor's String Quartet is an important component of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse Orchestra Program. The Quartet was established to offer an additional scholarship opportunity to highly qualified students performing in the UW-L Symphony Orchestra. The scholarship program is sponsored by the UW-L Chancellor. Besides their participation in the Symphony Orchestra, members of the Quartet have the chance to refine their performance skills and musicianship playing in a highly talented chamber music ensemble. The Chancellor’s String Quartet performs at least one concert per semester and also represents the University in official ceremonies by invitation of the Chancellor. In the history of the ensemble, the Quartet toured abroad to Russia representing the University as official delegates to our sister-city Dubna. The Quartet is coached by Dr. Enaldo A. Oliveira.
