Welcome to the Symphony Orchestral Studies Website

Orchestral Studies at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse consists of two orchestras: the Symphony Orchestra and the All-University String Orchestra; and four chamber music ensembles: the Chancellor’s String Quartet, the Hoeschler String Quartet, the Cordeiro Woodwind Quintet and the Symphonic Brass Quintet.
The Symphony Orchestra season includes four Masterworks Concerts, the UW-L Gala Concert and tours in the tri-state area and abroad. The Masterworks Concert Series includes several events such as Opera Scenes, the Composer-in-Residence Competition and the Artist in Residence of the Year which, in 2007-2008, was the world-renowned Grammy award-winning oboist Alex Klein.
