What is TESOL?

The National Clearinghouse for English Language Acquisition (NCELA) defines TESOL as “a professional association of teachers, administrators, researchers and others concerned with promoting scholarship, the dissemination of information, and strengthening of instruction and research in the teaching of English to speakers of other languages and dialects.”
