Ordering cycles

The following ordering cycles have been adopted by the campus and are included in the Textbook Services Policy. These due dates allow adequate time for discussions with faculty, communications with publishers, and for processing, ordering and shipping of textbooks. In addition, these established dates guarantee that UW-La Crosse is compliant with the Higher Education Opportunity Act (HEOA). The HEOA requires that all students be provided with information regarding the cost of the textbooks they must purchase prior to registering for classes.
Deadlines for course scheduling and ordering course materials from Textbook Rental Services:
Summer session

Course Schedules Due – Second Friday in January

Textbook Orders Due – Second Friday in March, before Spring Recess

Registration for Summer - First week in April
Fall semester

Course Schedules Due – Friday, end of the third week of second semester classes

Textbook Orders Due – Second Friday in March, before Spring Recess

Registration for Fall - Three weeks after text orders are due
Winter session and Spring semester

Course Schedules Due – Friday, end of the third week of first semester classes

Textbook Orders Due – Friday, three weeks after course schedules are due

Registration for Intersession and Spring - Three weeks after text orders are due
Important note:
Instructors/departments ordering texts supplied by foreign publishers should place orders as early as possible (at least 12 weeks in advance).
