Antoiwana WilliamsAntoiwana Williams has been UB's director since June 2006. Before coming to Upward Bound, Antoiwana was director of the Academic Success Institute in the Office of Multicultural Student Services at UW-L. Antoiwana's undergrad and graduate degrees are from UW-L. Her interests include her family, films, basketball, and cooking (but not tomatoes!) Email Antoiwana at williams.anto[at]uwlax.edu.

 

Paul Krause Paul Krause is UB's assistant director. He's been with the program since 1990. Paul teaches the Senior Seminar class during Summer Session and supervises Wednesday evening tutoring. Paul is a UW-L graduate who enjoys his family, sailing, hockey and racing, among other things. Email Paul at krause.paul[at]uwlax.edu.

 

Jessica Thill Jessica Thill is UB's advisor. She started her UB career as a student-tutor, then left to work for the Peace Corps, AmeriCorps and the MN Green Party. Since 2003, she's been UB's advisor, supervising Holmen tutoring, advising students weekly and working closely with Bridge students during summer. Jessica is a UW-L graduate pursuing a Master's degree at Winona State University. Her interests include community building, politics, gardening and films. Email Jessica at thill.jess[at]uwlax.edu.

Cathy Van MarenCathy Van Maren is UB's administrative specialist and the office fossil (with UB since 1985). Cathy does much of the office correspondence, publishing, and recordkeeping. A graduate of Iowa State, she also took many classes at UNC. Her interests include her family, politics, alternative energy and transportation, the Netherlands, gardening, Waldorf education, music composition and bicycling. ACADEMIC YEAR TUTOR applications are always accepted, though we won't have academic year tutoring openings until fall 2008. Download a .pdf application at www.uwlax.edu/upbound/tutorapp.pdf. Print it out, fill it out and return it to the Upward Bound office.
