About Us![]() UW-L students Liz Kaufman, Katie Schaaf, and Amber Goldbeck with Senator Dan Kapanke, Posters in the Rotunda 2008 The most important fact about undergraduate research at UW-L is that the term "research" represents ANY creative, investigative, or scholarly activity in ANY discipline. This means that no matter what your major or academic area of interest, YOU can become involved and reap the rewards of undergraduate research! Your participation in undergraduate research will add a dimension to your education that cannot be gained by sitting in a classroom. While working closely with a faculty mentor, you will be exposed to advanced techniques and modern research methods. In addition, your intimate involvement in the planning and execution of a long-term project will provide you with a unique perspective. This experience will make you stand out as a candidate in future job searches or on applications to graduate and professional schools. You can even receive funding for your work while at UW-L! Since 1997, the Undergraduate Research Committee (URC) at UWL has supported numerous collaborative student-faculty projects restricted only by the imagination and drive of students and their faculty mentors. The key is to begin talking to faculty and planning your work early. Undergraduate Research - College of Science and Allied Health |
