| POSITION DESCRIPTION |
Description/Primary Responsibilities: The Department of Communication Studies at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse invites applicants for a tenure-track assistant professor. Our department seeks foremost engaging teachers/scholars who can inspire students in Communication Studies. The successful candidate will be able to develop and teach courses in his/her areas of interest and in one or more of our existing emphasis areas (Advocacy & Cultural Criticism, Broadcast & Digital Communication, Interpersonal Communication, and Organizational & Professional Communication). UW-La Crosse is an ideal location for faculty members who seek to integrate their teaching, research, and service activities. Our department is one of the college’s largest academic units and continues to grow. We offer four program emphasis areas. Our core curriculum has a student-centered orientation and multiple opportunities for undergraduate research. As a department committed to the creation of an inclusive, supportive community for all its members, we seek faculty members who have professional or personal experience and interest in culturally diverse groups.
Qualifications (minimum and desirable): The successful candidate would be able to develop and teach courses in his/her areas of interest and in one of our existing emphasis areas (Advocacy & Cultural Criticism, Broadcast & Digital Communication, Interpersonal Communication and Organizational & Professional Communication).. Teaching responsibilities include four courses per semester and academic advising of students in our major. Minimum qualifications: Ph.D. by time of appointment

Information about UW-La Crosse: The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, founded in 1909, is one of 13 four-year campuses in the University of Wisconsin System.
